Being apolitical -- negating the polis -- can be an affirmation of one’s life, especially in a situation where one’s right to life is questioned on the ground of his or her political convictions. Background history:
UnMythU is an ongoing art project I started in January 2018, in order to subvert the ways by which my artistic identity has been domesticated in the institutions of contemporary art and culture. Since the defining feature of our so-called “post-truth” era is its culture of myth-making, be it in the world of art or politics, I give my project the title ‘UnMythU’.
