In Abysm, the artist encapsulates darkness by building walls of clay around it, thereby turning the resulting sculpture into a vessel filled with darkness. Streaks of light permeate through the fissures and the darkness is partially diminished, thus continuing her preoccupation with the cycle of life and death.
